Manchester – Manchester United announced the signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. The Slovenian striker has signed a five-year contract.
“Benjamin Sesko is now officially a Manchester United player,” read a MU statement on Saturday (August 9, 2025).
The Athletic reports that MU purchased Sesko for 76.5 million euros, with potential bonuses of up to 8.5 million euros. They beat Newcastle United, who had offered a similar price, even with a higher initial fee of 82.5 million euros.
However, Sesko chose to join MU. “Manchester United’s history is obviously very special, but what excites me is the future,” said the 22-year-old.
“When we discussed this project, it was clear that everything was in place for this team to continue growing and soon compete for the biggest trophies.
“I can’t wait to start learning from Ruben (Amorim, Manchester United manager) and connecting with my teammates to achieve the success we all know we’re capable of together,” he explained.
Sesko will reportedly be unveiled to the public today, in the pre-season match against Fiorentina, which kicks off at 6:45 p.m. WIB.
