Hai Phong: Thailand and Vietnam set up an exciting finale to Group A of the ASEAN Women’s Championship 2025 after registering their second successive wins on Saturday.
Cambodia 0-7 Thailand

Cambodia were put under pressure from the start but goalkeeper Chen Soveat – helped by a resolute defence – was able to keep four-time winners Thailand at bay.
Thailand’s persistence, however, saw them not only finding the breakthrough but score three goals in the space of nine minutes to take a commanding lead into the break.
Madison Casteen finished off Pichayatida Manowang’s cross in the 38th minute before Janista Jinantuya found the top corner two minutes later with Casteen adding the third in first half added time.

The half-time interval offered little respite for Cambodia as Thailand struck again in the 47th minute with Jinantuya finding space in the box to grab her second of the game after being found by Pattanan Aupachai.
Second half substitute Thawanrat Promthongmee made it 5-0 in the 70th minute before Ploychompoo Somnonk curled home a fantastic free-kick from 25 yards in the 81st minute.
Jinantuya put the icing on the cake with her third in the 90th minute, putting away the rebound after Aupachai’s effort had struck the post.
Indonesia 0-7 Vietnam

Vietnam delivered a dominant attacking performance, securing victory with six different scorers.
The home side were the early aggressors with Luong Thi Thu Thuong and Nguyen Thi Trúc Huong seeing their efforts thwarted by Indonesia keeper Laita Masykuroh.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 25th minute with Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy finishing off Tran Thi Thu Xuan’s through ball with a right footed shot into the bottom left corner.

Hoang Thi Loan doubled their lead three minutes later from distance before efforts from Huynh Nhu, Nguyen Thi Bích and Thuy Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy were kept out by Masykuroh.
Vietnam continued with their aggressive style in the second half with Pham Hai Yen converting Ngan Thi Van Su’s cross in the 69th minute with a fine header before Ngan Thi Van Su widened the gap three minutes later from a tight angle.

Indonesia fell further behind with Tran Thi Thu Thao slotting home from inside the box 10 minutes later with Pham Hai Yen adding her second of the evening in the 85th minute.
Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung netted the seventh with a shot from outside the box, thumping her effort into the top right corner to cap an impressive outing for Mai Duc Chung’s side.
